Google Classroom: additional functions

 

Google Classroom has been continuously been adding improvements. Be aware of the following functions and stay abreast of new developments through the link below.

 

1. Classes can be archived. Archiving a class will remove it from the home page and make it read-only — teachers and class members can still view archived classes, but can’t make any changes or turn in assignments. The teacher can always un-archive a class.

 

2. There is a new Assignments page. Teachers now have quick access to any assignment they have created, track which ones they’ve reviewed, and see how many students have completed their assignments. 

 

3. Classroom is now available as a mobile app (iOS and Android). Students can take a photo and attach it to their classroom assignment.  They can also easily attach images, PDFs and web pages from other apps to their assignments.

4. Posts can be labeled with "Topics" that serve as filters.  You can select a specific topic to isolate specific posts to appear on the stream.
