QR Codes and Chatterpix

 

Ms. Sharkey's 5th graders conducted research in order to write a biography of a famous person.  The app Chatterpix allowed them to record first-person biographies of their chosen historical person -- as their audio recording plays, Chatterpix provides a mouth that synchronizes with their recording, making it appear as if a picture of their historical person is actually speaking. Working with this app greatly increased student  engagement in the research project.

 

In addition, Ms. Sharkey constructed an interactive bulletin board with QR codes. Students could borrow an iPad to access the recorded Chatterpix biographies through the QR codes.
