Plickers for Real-Time Assessment

 

A big thank you to Mrs. Clancy and her 4th grade class for demonstrating how easy it was to use Plickers as an Exit Ticket for a Math lesson on fractions.

 

Plickers (= Paper Clickers) is a real-time assessment tool.  It requires only a teacher's smartphone + a mobile app + free Plickers Cards that you can download from the Plickers website.  Only the teacher needs an account.

 

Each Plickers Card can be turned in one of four directions, allowing the student to answer multiple choice questions (A,B,C,D) and true/false questions (A=true, B=false). Because each Plickers Card has a unique image assigned to a specific student, responses are concealed from fellow students, but are accessible to the teacher.  

 

The teacher's phone can scan the entire room within a few seconds, and gathers data from the whole class almost instantaneously. Plickers works well for polls and surveys as well.
