Interactive Lessons on the SMART Board

There is an ongoing series of Professional Development sessions relating to the creation of interactive lessons for the SMART Board.  An overview of the basic interactivity techniques was presented at an afternoon session, and concrete examples will be revisited on a weekly basis during the Monday Technology Prep Period.   All the materials will be posted in Mr. Alcruz's Google Classroom for those who are not part of the Monday sessions.

To increase opportunities to invite students up to the SMART Board, teachers can employ variations on the 3 basic techniques: 1) annotation activities (SMART Ink tools), 2) sorting activities (drag and drop), and 3) self-checking activities (many variations).  Quite a number of interactive templates are available in the Lesson Activity Toolkit, accessible via the Gallery Tab in the SMART Notebook software.
